Are you looking for the best tire traction mats for RVs? Just like a car, truck, van or commercial fleet vehicle, an RV can get stuck in snow, ice, mud, and sand just as easy. In some ways, they are easier to get stuck because of their weight and purpose. By purpose, I mean that they are often driven on non-paved roads in state parks, campgrounds, remote out-of-the-way places or just off the beaten path while you are out searching for adventure.

Best tire traction mats for RVs: We love our home on wheels...

RVing is a way of life for many people and a favorite pastime for others. I mean what's not to love? Being with friends and family on the open road or favorite remote out-of-the-way spot with all your necessities with you is very fun and appealing. According to the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association or RVIA.org, the following reasons are why RVing is so popular...

  • Flexibility
  • Convenience
  • Comfort
  • Family appeal
  • Affordability
  • Lure of the outdoors
  • Versatility

Based on all of these, it's not surprising that RVing is as popular as it is. Being able to jump in the RV and hit the open road is liberating and exciting. The problem is that with the open road, unexpected roadside emergencies can happen and can turn fun into a headache.

RV on the open rad

In order to help you keep the good times rolling (so to speak), let's talk about situations where your RV can get stuck and why you need the best tire traction mats with you at all times.

Best tire traction mats for RVs: If it has wheels it can get stuck...

Does this sound familiar? You've taken your RV out on a long weekend or vacation to one of your favorite remote spots and while you are there it rains and becomes muddy. When it's time to pack up and leave your RV has sunken into the soft ground and gets stuck. If you are in a remote area, possibly by yourself, what are you going to do? Wouldn't you like to be able to add extra tire traction to your RV during times like this? If you have The Portable Tow Truck you can.

Best tire traction mats for RVs: Don't rely on your cell phone...

I know what you are thinking, I'll just call someone if I need help. You can certainly do that but one thing to keep in mind is that many remote locations may not have cell phone service.

By being prepared with the best tire traction mats for RVs, you won't have to rely on your cell phone, wait and pay for a tow truck (which can take hours and cost 100's of dollars) or for someone to help you.

You can put tire traction mats under your spinning tires and be on your way in no time. Take a look at our recent blog post about tow truck wait times and costs HERE

Best tire traction mats for RVs: He said, she said...

Let's take a second and see what our customers have to say about the best tire traction mats for RVs, The Portable Tow Truck...

Cathy C. - "I was at a weekend RV outing event this past summer. I saw three RVs, one car, and one truck get stuck due to excessive rain and mud that weekend. A guy had several sets of these with him in his RV and he actually used them on all three RVs, the car and truck to get unstuck. I was shocked the product worked so well. Based on the price these are a must in my opinion." 5 out of 5 stars

Melinda C. - "Love it!! Two days after we received it, we got our truck stuck in deep gravel, at an angle, up against some shrubbery. The more we tried to get unstuck, the more stuck we became. We placed the Portable Tow Truck under the outside rear wheel and BINGO!! The truck backed out with no problem at all. It saved us a big towing bill!!! Great product. A peace of mind that's very easy to carry around. I highly recommend it. A big fan"

Bill H. - We have a 15,000 lb RV. When we were taking it out of winter storage, it came off the pad and promptly got stuck in the mud. My wife found your product on Amazon and suggested we try it. Since the RV has dual tires on each side, I thought it best that we get two sets so we could put one mat under each of the rear wheels. Attached are a couple of pictures of the mats after we finished today. Not very pretty, but they got the job done. I’ll hit them with the hose and they’ll be fine. To say the least, we were more than pleased. They are now part of the RV emergency kit for the summer, and they’ll be in the back of the cars in the winter.

I remember getting stuck in a muddy field with a friend of mines RV and it was so muddy that whatever we put under the tires just got sunk into the mud so it just made things worse, I had never been so dirty after trying to get that big thing out of the field! We had something similar to the portable tow truck but with less grip. Wouldn't you think that the wider the surface, the less it would sink into the mud?

Hey Matthew, thanks for commenting. What were you guys using at the time to get the RV unstuck? Yes, you would think something with a large surface area would work better but that is not always the case. Depends a lot on the ground conditions. Thanks, Curtis.
